Before you can start your driving lessons you need to have a provisional driving licence, but it would not become valid until you were seventeen. Providing you have the valid provisional driving licence, you can start your driving courses. There is a wide chouse in available courses, such as the one to one course, the shared tuition course and the alternative courses. It needs only for you to decide on the course for your experience and requirements. During the training, you are able to consult your instructor on various matters relating to the theory test and your theory study. The theory test has to be passed before any practical driving test can be taken. The test is made up of two parts, Highway Code and Hazard Perception. The Highway Code part is a 50 question test with multiple choice answers. The Hazard Perception part uses video clips to see how quick you respond to hazards. Both parts are taken at the same test appointment and both need to be passed. Once you have passed the theory test, then you can apply for the practical driving test. It is the last step of your learning to drive. The driving test for car drivers is about 40 minutes long. During the time the examiner will check your eyesight, ask you to show how to conduct certain vehicle safety checks and direct you to drive around a test route. If you show you can control your drive and correct faults safely without interfering with other road users, you will have no difficulty in passing your driving test first time.

From the above you can see that learning to drive can be achieved quickly. Once you have learned to drive, you can go where you want to go optionally and quickly.
